This is a ready-reference resource, alphabetically arranged, that provides introductory information on more than 250 key historical figures, significant events and influential ideas from the European Renaissance. A table of contents and an overview essay about the Renaissance open the encyclopedia; entries range from one paragraph to two pages in length, and a chronology, bibliography and subject index conclude the volume. The language will be accessible to most high school students. This volume is recommended for those school libraries that already have deeper resources about Renaissance history and need a source for students looking for a quick reference source to fill in gaps in reading and research.
