Social Issues in Literature SeriesThis series aimed at middle and high school students features notable Hispanic figures who have made an important social, political or cultural contribution in the past century. Each title contains an introduction that explains the subject’s importance to his or her era. Subsequent chapters provide a chronological account of the subject’s life, followed by a list of important dates and a bibliography for further reading that includes books, periodical articles, Web sites and, in some cases, films. Dozens of color photos and sidebars supplement the text.
