The world's leading large print publisher, Thorndike Press began its large print publishing program in 1980 in Thorndike, Maine.
Thorndike Press is now the home of Wheeler Publishing and large print title offerings published by Walker Large Print. Additional large print titles can be purchased by visiting Large Print Press. Find genre fiction in standard print at Five Star Publishing.
The company currently publishes more than 1,200 new large print titles each year. The vast majority of Thorndike Press books are large print editions of current bestsellers and genre fiction.
In addition to publishing our own large print books, Thorndike Press distributes large print titles from such world-renowned publishers as HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Time Warner, Harlequin and Silhouette.
In 1999, Thorndike Press was acquired by Gale, a part of Cengage Learning. Gale serves the world's information and
education needs through its vast and dynamic content pools, which are
used by students and consumers at home, in libraries, at schools and on
the Internet.

large print, as defined by the National Association for the Visually Handicapped (NAVH), is alphanumeric characters in a 16-point or larger font. Thorndike Press books are typeset in 16-point Plantin font using jet-black ink on high-opacity paper. All of our large print books are complete and unabridged, and are produced with durable materials and binding.
